I have to agree with @teejaywhy.
Many of the big bike companies have evolved significantly over the last 30 years or so, and not all for the better.
I'm not sure where GT was originally made, but they're almost certainly just another Chinese/Taiwanese brand.
Ahh, so after bankruptcy and a couple of sales, GT is now part of Dorel Industries, which imports most or all of its bikes. And, now it is hardly more than just the trademark of the former company.

Here in the USA, you'd be lucky to get $200 for those bikes used. Perhaps even $100.

Per the exchange rate I just googled, the advertised price is about $135, so about right in line with your estimate.

Not enough info on the Cube to make the call, but the GT doesn't look like anything I'd want to own. I'm always skeptical of cheap suspension.
Bigger is probably better for tall people, but it depends a lot on your proportions.

Same here. Unless suspension is really needed, it just adds weight, complexity & uses more energy.
For a given price, the expense put into suspension, means something else was compromised.

Counterfeit or not is a non-issue here; both are low end bikes which are produced even by the respectable mass market brands. As long as the bike is in decent shape and a good fit, the "lineage" would have no real effect on the usage.
The bottom end suspension forks are cheaper than more or less decent rigid forks, so it is unlikely anything else apart from weight and geometry was compromised there.

Discussing which department store bike is better? Is "neither" a choice?
