Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Need help with fork replacement

Bought a 2004 Devinci apex bike with full tiagra except 105 rear dearailleur for 240CAD

seemed too good to be true and it was. I noticed that the fork steerer is bent today.

Now i found this guy selling a Argon 18 Gallium Pro 2017 fork for 50$

would there be any problem using that on my apex?
At first I thought only the threadless 1 1/8 inch mattered but now hes saying he dont think it will work with a TH-23 headset?

The Argon18 fork almost certainly has a tapered steer tube while the Devinci fork likely has a straight steer tube. If this is the case, the newer fork won't fit

Make sure the tube is the same diameter & not tapered, as ALCJPHIL said.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I'd measure the steer tube and crown race seat carefully. That configuration looks bizarre to me. But, I am wondering if it is a pseudo 1 1/4" x 1 1/8" tapered steer tube.

I agree, it is time to replace that fork.
