There is no View/Zoom option in any player, nor does <alt><V><Z> (I assume you mean <alt-V><Z>).

I beg to differ. I figure you or one of the other ladies on C&V will start a vintage "hunk" thread by the end of the day. I'd pose for your "hunk" thread, but that pic would be an argument not to continue with the thread.

You want a hunk on a bike? Here's a picture of me taken in about 1983. The photographer was on his bike!

here you go: 171 pages of the ladies & bikes. The topic is pretty old so the first 100 pages do miss a lot of pictures.

Ok, Ok! In aircraft, you have to use hyphens: B-17, B-29, P-51, et cetera.

Spitfires had occasional customization ("The Borough of Lambeth" is the only concrete example I know of, I built a model of her).

These are all great pictures! Thanks, all!

I don't know much about the Spitfire, other than that it's very beautiful. I do know that that particular one was called "Borough of Lambeth" because it was paid for by public subscription among the people of that rather poor London borough, who must have made sacrifices to raise the money. These Spitfire Funds were quite a regular thing, so I anticipate that others, too, were named in recognition of those who raised the money for them. They were in need of constant replacement - my uncle had the dubious distinction of writing off three of them, the last time ending up a prisoner in Germany. Ironically, his step-brother worked for A.V. Roe in Manchester, and worked on the design of the Lancaster bomber.

My father flew both Spitfires and Lancasters. He managed to not wreck any of the planes entrusted to him.

I'm saving that first one to the hard drive. It has certain features which make me fear for its longevity, although I personally believe its beauty is matched by its artistic merit. The second one is a bit obvious, and the bike's not as nice, either.

I was hoping someone would post the woman on a bicycle that was in a mid-70's Scientific American, IIRC. Brunette in shorts, lips pursed, sort of soft focus...gorgeous! I can't find the pic online when I search, unfortunately.

OK some hints for the wise. This started out as a tribute to pin-up art if I'm not mistaken and of course we are in C&V. Alot of the more recent pics (Liz Hatch, Miss Peru, Rebecca Romero) are not really pin-ups and they're not on C&V bikes.

You all need to stay on topic. Please.
