This idea came to me while commenting in another thread. I have a Pro that began tearing and is out of use now, and I also have a misshapen, desiccated B72 that is just plain ugly. Will go get pix of both. Post up yours!

This is the original saddle ,Brooks Professional ,to my early seventies Super Mondia. Interestingly enough THE most comfortable saddle I own! This bike had been sitting in a storage locker for many years and the saddle was pretty dry when I got the bike. I took a chance and started working in Dr. Marten’s leather conditioner and it responded very nicely. I have been riding on it like this for a couple of years. Joe joesvintageroadbikes.wordpress

My rare Brooks, Campagnolo branded, narrow rail, B17 died at 50 years old in a torrential downpour. It was original to my '64 Legnano Roma Olympiade, and, I have to admit that in 50 years I was guilty of performing zero maintenance. At the time I didn't know about "re-covering" options, so I found a lightly used B17 on Ebay, but had to change to the wide rail brackets.

This Brooks b.15 was on a friends Super course that I converted from Road to townie for him. it was mostly just dried out and had been thankfully stored inside while being out of service for 30 years. I gently scrubbed it with leather soap and a soft brush, let it dry for a week, took a dremel with a brass wire brush to the metal bits and then hit it with Obenaufs let it sit for another day and did a final wipe down.

The foreground one is a Professional that came on a '61 Legnano Gran Premio that I acquired a few months ago. I'm assuming its original. The one in back is the Ebay replacement for the one that split on my '64 Legnano, pictured a few posts above.
