Maybe this time around it will be lighter than their all aluminum frame?

I went to the cannondale factory and toured. There were racks and racks of six13 frames that i really wanted to steal.

I'm with you....I talked to the Cannondale rep and he said that the new seat tube is a bit lighter than the carbon, but it's stiffer as they made it a touch thicker in circumference. Took a few grams out...
The original frame is the best I've ever ridden, and that includes custom stuff...light, stiff, and responsive.

I found the Six 13 a bit more comfy and it was given to me for almost no money so...I liked losing that tinging sound aluminum makes on bumps...
But my 7 is on the floor of my office while I decide what to do next...

Maybe Simoni, but that's not because of his bike....
BTW...there are only a couple of these new frames in existence and Gilberto has them all for right now...all in a 48cm frame....

My team is sponsored by Cannondale and I confirmed that Simoni's frame is "test" frame. Cannondale does not plan to change the six13 for rest of the 2005 year. After Simoni's input and the rest of the pro team input, Cannondale will go from there and update the six13 for 2006.
Personally, I think the seat tube being either aluminum/carbon fiber or pure aluminum tubing will just be fine. My personal experience is the six13 is a great ride, its not harsh on rough roads at all in comparison to my CAAD5 frame. There is high level of bling-bling factor riding a six13, but that encourages me to ride harder because it performs well and rides incredibly.
Not every bike is rides the same way, once the material is changed, its different. I will always remain a CAAD5 frame rider for crits because of its super rigidness. Whereas my Six13 is for racing the roads.

Just got a 2006 Six13. I've put about 800 miles on it over 3-4 weeks. Best racing bike EVER. It's actually slightly heavier than my Ibis Titanium Road - but it's a MUCH better bike. The stiffer BB is amazing, the bike climbs/descends handles like nothing I've ridden and it's a joy to ride. Weight weenies? I rode a 15lb. Litespeed Ghisallo a couple of months ago. Rode like a friggin parking meter. Awful.
My 56cm Cannondale Six13 weighs just under 17lbs with my Speedplays and my bike computer. That's close enough to super light for this rider. I never thought I'd find a bike I'd like more than my Ibis. I have. Amazing. And with full Dura Ace for like $4K. A bargain compared to what's out there. And it comes with bling too? I'll take it.

If everyone didn't already know for 06 there are 2 different frame versions of the Six13. The Team has the top and down tube in CF with the seat tube in AL and the Pro version has the down tube only in CF with all other tubes being AL.
The Pro confuses me, I understand they are trying to take cost out but still have the CF in there seemingly just to call it a Six13 and to attract CF buyers but other companies that mix materials seem to think the top tube is the better place for the CF than the down tube. Anyone know why C'Dale went with the down tube in CF rather than the top tube?

90% of the smooth carbon ride is from the carbon down tube. The Pro should ride fairly similarly to the Team - and may be a bit lighter. I have the Team version (carbon top AND down tubes).
