Not sure or concerned if its 'THE Best', but works fantastic, was $4 at AutoZone , mess-free while deep penetrating, and aerosol/easy-to-apply: NanoProMT Dry Lubricant

If you sound out the letters "en, eff, ess" it sounds like the hebrew words "אין אפס", (Ein Efes or Ayn Effes or En Effess) which literally means, "without zero" but idiomatically is used to mean "there is no other possibility" or "without a doubt". As in "Are you sure this is the best chain lube?"..."Ayn Effes!"

There is no other possibility...literally. At least in Hebrew.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the cleanest lube?
I can get all manner of viscosities from work, and have tried the usual sprays like WD40, but it's all mineral oil based and ends up on the white-walls, chain-ring teeth, hanger, etc.. messy, ugly.
I've never tried true alternatives and i don't know where to start. My new bike is still mint, it's new Tiagra chain is a bit sticky, like it's waxed, so i'm looking to maintain it from here without running it in the dirty wet state i've always known.

This has sadly become a once a month topic. As in most things online, rather easily answered by a quick search.

Parafin wax + quick link. Get the type used for canning or candle making from walmart. Degrease chain in solvent, degrease chain in solvent again, let dry, melt wax and dunk chain for 10 minutes, fish out with utensil of choice, put on bike. Repeat every 300-500 miles, or after riding through heavy rain.
Or just buy a wax based lube with solvent like white lightning.

Just got back from ripping around the new snow that's currently ongoing. Figured I'd get a lot of moister so I applied TriFlow twice in a couple hour span before going. Love the snow!

Well gasps! I got so excited with this new chain lube thread that I broke down and lubed the chain on my trainer bike. Used some 3-in-1 dry lube I bought at Lowe's. Naturally, I wiped the chain down thoroughly beforehand.

Lubricants for bikes is one topic that could be a possibility for a television program. Its like "how things are made", type program. Or the other one, about myth versus reality.
I would like to examine those companies that sell bike lubes just to see who exactly is on staff, their actual research and development team, the engineers. That way we might get a better insight as to where the best deal is for the consumer.
If I had to make a guess, it would be that just a handful of lube manufacturers do the formulations for the multitude of sellers out there.
Perhaps an analogy might be Columbus steel and Reynolds steel for the tubes. Or the various makers of carbon fiber sheets with its various characteristics of levels of "modulus".
