The Voice of America transmitting station in the boonies of Pitt Co NC, named for Edward R Murrow. A huge complex & hard to get a good photo of the many transmission towers.

I met this fellow while I was doing hill repeats up Hurricane Ridge in prepartion for the 2012 Iron Horse Classic.
He was riding up to enjoy some spring skiing.

Here is another one from the archives, taken on Lopez Island, Washington. Uncommon in this part of the country anyways, a farm that uses good old fashoned horse power exclusively:

You go for a ride on the other side of town and its like you're in a whole different country. Kenmore had a brewery row? who knew! Seaplanes sure but breweries.....

You were only 2 miles from my place when you took that Kenmore Air Harbor photo. Next time you consider rolling down to my neck o' the woods give me a call and I'll roll out some miles with you

GTK Drillium Dude, I am not usually over there but I had an interview in Redmond and decided to hit one my old ride spots on the way home as I had the bike in the car, if I am over there again I will give you a shout, I am guessing you use the Burke Gillman as your ride to School route....

I've been out that way several times before. There is/was a great little Mom & Pop restaurant, right near the park & ride, that had killer milkshakes. They made them in the big stainless steel glasses, and left those on the table with the regular glass, just like back in the '60s. 😎 Hard to find that, anymore.

This is as close as I've been, SO FAR, to Spirit Mountain (in Nevada). I wasn't really planning to ride in this direction today, it's supposed to be a rest day, so I wasn't geared up for desert riding. Plus I bought a gallon of chocolate milk this morning, a "manager's special" at Safeway, and didn't want to waste it in the sun. 😁😉 That would've left me with only a little water, not nearly enough.
