Got my stitches out today, and have been doing some trainer rides, though I can't put my hands on the bars still.
On the bright side, new fork, saddle, derailleur, etc. are all supposed to be here this week, and, hopefully, my custom team logo state champ jersey

Maybe about 5k as a starting number. I doubt there would be much benefit for me in a custom bike.

Tons of options out there from almost every manufacturer of road bikes. My advice is see if you can go on some test rides and then decide. You may even decide to just ride what you have.

I also find that discs are great for me in terms of enabling bling wheelset purchases - I never could justify the cost of crabon wheels when the rims would be getting worn away every time I hit the brakes.

Better hurry, then. Road bikes are increasingly going towards disc, specially with aero bikes, it seems. For rim, it seems like "climber" bikes are the last stand.
