September weather in Dolomites / Southern Austria

Going on a bike tour of norther Italy (Dolomites) and Southern Austria the 2nd week of September.

Anyone have experience with the weather there? High and low temps, rain fall etc.

You might ask the mods to move this to the Touring forum.

In any event...

I have been in the general area in September a couple of times now. Expect alot of rain. You can get two days straight no problem. The good news, few tourists and airfare is relatively cheap that time of year.

In the mountains, the weather is unpredictable most times of the year. Be prepared for anything.

I didn't experience that place but it is the real fact when the rainy season knocks on the door then it becomes very difficult to ride a bike on the road especially in the hills and mountainside.
