Shimano 105 brake hoods

My daughter in law has a bike with Shimano 105 brake levers. It's reasonably old and the hoods have deteriorated to the point where she'd like some new ones. She dropped in to the local Giant shop and was told her best bet was to go online and order some for Shimano S6CO 105 brakes. Naturally, being modern brake levers, internet searches result in all sorts of numbers EXCEPT the ones specified.

So, WTF do I search for? Where can I get them online that sells to Australia? A direct link is probably best.

Thanks.

That part number brings up zero results related to bike brake hoods.

Which series of 105?
!050/1051 = forget it, easier to buy a decent used set of levers on eBay.
1055/56 = Look on eBay, they come up from time to time.
Later 5500/5600/5700 = look for HUDZ brand brifter replacements, they will be easier to find than stock ones.

You want replacement rubber hoods or the whole brake lever? If the latter, Tektros are cheap, easy to find, and twice as comfortable as any non-STI Shimano levers I have ever tried.

Are these just brake lever or 105 STI brifters? What model are they. The model number should be engraved on the back of the lever.

Try Fair Wheel Bikes

https://fairwheelbikes.com/cockpit-s...e-grips-hoods/

You have to know what generation 105. Are they 5700, 5800, etc.?

She wants the hoods.
They're 105 brifters from, we think, 2007.
That number was given to her by a mechanic and you'd assume he read it off the levers or would hope he knew what he was talking about.

Thanks for the help. I'll keep trying to find her something. It's going to be slow because I only see her once a fortnight or so.

If you say it's from 2007, it's probably a 5600.

Try ebay: Shimano 105 5600 replacement hoods

hüdz are a nice replacement, available in different colors if she doesn't want boring black.

Thanks mate. That's what I'd narrowed it down to. I've asked her to count the rear cogs to make sure it's a 10 sp though I'm pretty sure it is.

Thanks for the tip on the hudz having different colours though she'll probably go for the basic black (black and white bike).

If you peel the outside rear of the hood forward, the model number of the shifter is embossed on the plastic shifter body.
