I've got a feeling my mileage will drop a bit this month, what with the Texas heat and humidity and all. I'm going to aim for 750 miles.

In July I thought the heat was going to get me but I wound up with my personal best since I’ve been logging my rides .
But , August here in Georgia can be rough .
I’m going to stick with a goal of 125 and see if I can best it .

Will have a 1.5hr drive daily, soon but I'm hoping to maintain the 400 mile goal (got 500 last month but only missed 3-4 days)

I hate making predictions. Last month I missed 12 full days of riding, mostly due to a fall and damaged bicycle. Still, I managed 900, and that was mostly in the hills, heat and humidity. I’m a little beat up, but I’ve come to enjoy the daily excursions. So okay - this month I’ll set a goal of 700 again, knowing that weather, some traveling and chores will reduce my mileage somewhat.

I have three great bikes, and one more superb one on the way. I pay a premium for them, but ride the heck out of all of them, LOL!

I started June at 175, July at 225 and I'm going to set the bar a lot higher for August trying to do 300. I had a lot of things happen this year and I just haven't rode the bike as much as I wanted. Plus with all that has gone on I have gain weight. I was at 230 at the start of the year now I'm at 241. My goal is to lose 6lbs in August and 20 by the end of the year. I'm not going to get off on a good start this weekend its 5am and I'm getting ready to drive to Baltimore to help my son move into his apartment this weekend. So when I get back Monday I'm going to try my best to ride more and eat better. Wish me luck I have a bad sweet tooth.

400 miles for July. Busy work schedule since mid June and high heat and humidity last two weeks cut into ride time. Work slowing down to normal hours and the heat wave finally broke equals more time on the bike this month.

Goal for the year is 4,000 miles, siting at 2,655 today.

Between Zwift over the winter and spring and the bike and eating better I've manage to drop 35 pounds since November. Probably a clyde for life but at 220 and riding like I can now, I'll take it.

Nice looking bike, the red chain really grabbed my eyes. No rear brake? or is there a rear coaster brake? Kinda looks like my bikes, they have mismatched rim colors.

coaster brake on the rear . The rear is actually a 27” . I’m waiting for a silver 700c coaster brake rear that’s on order .
I wanted to go with black rims but the silver was $40 cheaper . I swapped out the front wheel today to match the new wheel when it gets here. Also added a rear rack .
Bike was built using stuff I had laying around the garage .

I know what you mean about bike stuff laying around, I have enough extra stuff to build a couple of bikes and about 10 extra saddles.

Perfect weather, overcast, a couple tiny drops of rain. But... and there is always a but ...everyone else was out on the trail today.

Goal for August - 700 miles

7/01 - 18

Note: group ride with some beginner riders in Northern VA. Sacrificed miles for teaching newbies and making some new friends.

Added a pic of my bike from a couple years ago. If you look in the background you can see a camel. This was taken near here in Parker, Tx.

8-01 6.5
8-02 6.5

MTD 13.0
YTD 1067.8
Took the new build SS out this morning. Got it back home and discovered the crank axle had too much play in it . I figured it was worn out , so I swapped the crankset and bottom bracket out .
I just realized I’ve got about $260 in new parts tied up in this old bike . 😱

Less than ideal start to the month. I'll probably be adding Zwift back into the mix due to the heat.

Goal: 150 miles

8/2/2020 - 7.2 miles
