NOS Tubular Safety?

Hi all, I was thinking of gluing on a pair of new (but older) Vittoria Pave tires that I haven't used for a few years. They've been inside wheel bags and indoors.

Wanted to ask for opinions on whether they looked safe to ride on; the tread is free of cracks, but some stitching is exposed on the sidewalls--I took a couple pictures of the worst spots.
They hold air fine and look OK to me, but I'm not completely sure. Do I toss them instead?

Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

There is only one way to know if they are safe and that is ride them. And when they have worn out from riding you will know they where safe.
Start with the basics, you think they are fine , they have been properly stored ,they have never been used. So quite likely they are perfectly fine but like any tire they may have had defect from new.
You are the only one who can decide if they are safe
From the history and the picture I'm pretty sure I would ride them.

Paint some latex solution onto the dry areas of the sidewall.

The sidewall rubber only covers the threads, which give the tire its strength. As long as the threads are intact, I think the tire is safe.

Rubber is quite weak compared to the structural components of the tire, the beads and threads. Rubber only supplies traction and in some cases cosmetic finish.

Should be OK. Coating the sidewalls with rim cement (Mastik or=) would also work to seal things up.

Great, thanks for all the replies--will definitely coat the exposed areas with some tubular glue. Cheers!

Glue on the sidewalls? Really? Maybe AquaSeal, we used that on CX tires for years. Glue...no.

Here's a sample- glue on the right, no glue on the left. Not really a big deal.

I have a Clement Criterium that I rode at least 30 years after I first rode it. It was a leisurely ride though and wouldn't trust otherwise. I still have it but I haven't been on that bike in a while. I keep meaning to dust it off. It's this bike and that might be it on the front, not sure as I can't see any logo.

Back in the old days, people would intentionally age their tubulars. There was a superstition that aged tubulars were better, somehow.
