Whoa, whoa partner. Them there's fightin words. Floridaman has been banging out over 10,000 new cases per day 10 out of the last 11 days. Over the last 14 days our daily average is almost 11,000 per day. You don't just reach this level of incompetence over night.

I look at the color coded NY Times US map. What I see is southern football in full swing. I"m confused, The season doesn't start for a few weeks, or so I thought.

Hondo,
Only one bed available in lower TX tells me you are about maxed out. Rio Grand area is engulfed in the virus, and the coastal area is overwhelmed as well. Me-thinks TX is getting a run on FL right now. Unfortunate that in the 6 month anniversary of the first case in the US, that TX is now as bad as it can get. One in eight infected in the coastal area says a lot. In my sixteenth week of house arrest over this pandemic, and I am a bit weary, but still lots of bike work to do so I am staying busy. I trust all are well, Smiles, MH

I'm not worried. Our Governor has a not so secret plan to keep us on top. No one beats FL.

California just passed New York for total confirmed cases to take the #1 spot in the USA on July 20.

China set a record of about 15,100 cases a day on February 13, 2020 when they changed reporting methods to include presumptive cases (significantly higher than their background rate of daily new cases at that time).

California has come close, but hasn't broken China's record yet.
Florida broke China's record on July 12 with 15,300 cases.
Texas was just short of China's record on July 16 with 15,000 cases.

Florida and Texas duking it out and then there's this:

https://www.noaa.gov/media-release/b...icted-for-2020

https://www.washingtonpost.com/weath...ely-get-worse/

to drive people together or scatter under emergency circumstances..making it a complete calamity.

Some folks learn harder than others.

Pretty awesome, the NOAA article is 2 months old and only has 1 name crossed off. Today we finished crossing out the entire first column with Gonzalo. I'm guessing we're gonna need to whip out the Greek names again.

Yup, I don’t know what to think. I hate politics and I don’t like either party that much. But making a pandemic political is not very smart. I don’t think a virus has a party just one agenda. To find a host to infect.

I find it odd that with 150,000 dead in the USA people are making a contest out of this.

Yesterday, I was grocery shopping in Loganville, GA. Sign said NO ONE allowed in without mask. In approximately 30 mins, I counted 8 people w/o mask. The demographics are telling: all Caucasian, 7/8 in the 40+ range, 6/8 male....
Large chain store, so over 100 inside... and everyone else masked....

Here's a pretty good round up of our problems. Looks like it will take FL 2 weeks to pass NY, fortunately our Governor has said we've reached a plateau .

I work in a hospital and there are some indicators that we may have crested the peak for this wave in our area at least. Doesn't mean we still don't have a lot of cases or won't have for a while though.

I read FL just passed NY in confirmed Covid cases. Look out the rest of the US, we're coming for you. Although I am a little disappointed the GOP convention was cancelled. This was part of DeSantis not so secret plan to keep us on top.

Texas is still a contender I am because I feel like I was invited to a rally in Marble Falls, Texas. I said no I’m a Viking not a Redneck and that confused them to the point the subject was changed

It's all a big joke isn't it. "Texas is still a contender" . WTF... Only in the USA is stupid the new normal.

You should

Make masks mandatory
Practice social distancing
Shut down if necessary
worry about the economy later. Money isn't any good if you are all dead.
get Government funding where necessary. Sadly you may have to dip into that Defense budget...
Listen to the Doctors not the politicians.

And lets defeat this lousy virus.

I wish you well.. Really stupid thread.
