Many years ago I was at a restaurant while on vacation in D.C. I should have known I was in trouble when the table next to me was complaining their food wasn't cooked. I took a few bites of chicken and noticed it was still pink inside. I had a very long night. Then the next day, still feeling like death, I had to fly home alone with my then 3 year old daughter.
On another vacation I made a sandwich with some prepackaged grocery deli lunch meat. That was another rough night. I decided to go for a bike ride the next day anyways. I got maybe 10 miles when I needed to find a bathroom immediately. I found a public toilet at a fishing pier just in time. I absolutely destroyed that poor toilet.

Don’t forget the MD 20/20 aka Mad Dog. Many years ago I got sick from drinking that rot gut and never touched that stuff again.

Yeah, but Thunderbird had one of the most memorable jingles of any of the so-called "bum wines".
What the word?
Thunderbird!
What's the price?
Forty twice!
That's some brilliant ad copy right there.

Taco Bell used to use the slogan "Make a Run for the Border." Should have been "Make a Run for the Bathroom."
Several years ago I did a hard ride while training for a tour. Afterwards, I was famished. The only place close by to the start/finish was a Taco Bell. I went there. I forget what I got. Think it was some new burrito product they were advertising on TV. Ordered two. I did not get sick, but boy did the food taste engineered. Loaded with sodium and fat. I can see how so many people get addicted to fast food like that. I had not eaten big chain fast food in ages, and I was reminded of why.

The liquor stores in center city Philly and other nice areas of the city (Bottled liquor sales in PA are state controlled. You have to buy from state-run stores.) stopped selling fortified wines like MD, Thunderbird and Richard's Wild Irish Rose in an attempt to drive off the winos who would hang outside the stores asking for change. You can only buy that stuff in "the 'hood."

It’s still available in the basic convenience store but as you said more prevalent in the rougher hoods. Fortified with the highest alcohol content that doesn’t have to be only in a liquor store in Texas.
