Interesting analysis.

We have a female governor and seem to be doing significantly better than our northern or southern neighbors. But, part of it is also due to luck and the early spread of the virus.

A bunch of states closed schools on 3/16, but Oregon did manage to beat both California and Washington by a few days

america has lost its sense of identity & is struggling to find itself a LEADER. Covid is a matter of 1st impression and how it affects a nation's identity & leadership is uncertain. up to now WOMEN have risen to power only thru "democratic" processes (royal blood excluded). when china or russia is "led" by a secular woman the the world will grasp what female leadership really is > until then the power stage remains FOR MEN ONLY

Thatcher led the UK decades ago.
And, or course the Chancellor of Germany.

It is only a matter of time before a woman rises through the ranks to become President of the USA. It may be that if Kamala Harris becomes VP, she'll take a greater role in DC than many other VPs.

Of course, the most powerful person in the US House is a woman.

> there are really only three centers of world power: US -PRC-Russia, every one else plays a supporting role. My statement points out that authoritarian regimes are rarely led by women. Feminists still argue that most of women rights gains are artificial gender concessions AND I AGREE. The US will surely have a woman leader before Russia or the PRC; this assumes american democracy doesn't give way to executive authoritarianism. If that occurred our leader would be male.

>> I also think that matters like COVID may be better addressed by female leadership because a woman's voice can be more assuring and less authoritarian when addressing the domestic issues caused by a pandemic.

What I read/heard is it didn't matter if a country was democratically led or ruled by an autocrat. The countries that were run by science deniers did much worse, as you would expect. In this case it would seem a good number of women leaders were listening to their scientist/experts.
