As a realist, I feel it my duty to point out that there is no evidence to suggest that Fall will suck any less than Summer.

I think it has something to do with not unclipping in time.

I don't want summer to be over, but it is. We just had three weeks of forfeit, and suddenly it went from hot to 60s. We had good sun yesterday, but it's autumn sun, not as strong, at a lower angle. The days are getting so short, and it's happening quickly! The lakes cooled off, refreshing isn't how anybody would describe them anymore. And so many downed leaves.

It'll be time for a larch march soon.

To me, Fall is always better than summer here in Southeast Texas. The seasons of high heat and hurricanes will be coming to a close. My weekend chores will take less energy, which will mean more energy for riding. Plus, the morning humidity levels of 90% won't seem nearly as bad with cooler temps.

It's after Alligator mating season, and Hurricane season and right about when RV trailer season starts. You'll recognize it as the time when all the folks try to return their "emergency" generators to Home Depot.

Can't wait to put fenders on the new bike. They are matchy matchy with the frame color.

I'm just waiting to ride. 7 inches of rain in the last 24 hours and still counting here. Could be a lot worse, but . . . arrrgh.

The past 3-4 days, around where I live, has become autumn. Right on time, and it's about time.

A few of the leaves have begun to fall off the trees, as well. Far more squirrels seem to be hauling nuts to their caches, it seems. And fewer of the "fair weather" birds seem to be around.

Nighttime temperatures have dropped well below 60F for the first time in months, occasionally dropping below 50F. Wonderful, to be able to open the windows at night and actually have the house cool off. Far nicer than when nightly temps wouldn't drop below 80F.

Makes for nicer morning rides and walks.

Sure is a nice change.

I bought a clearance down jacket that I think will only get me down to about 40F. Trying to decide if I should keep it.
