https://psychology-tools.com/test/au...quotient/score

I got 44 out of 50. I guess I should be institutionalized.

I'm trying to figure the first question out: I prefer to do things with others rather than on my own.

It depends who those others are. Good friend, absolutely prefer company. Just some random person? That's another story.

Does the fact that I can't just answer the question mean there's no hope for me?

I didn't think of it at the time, but there is definitely one thing I prefer not to do on my own.

The guy who came up with this is Sasha Baron-Cohen's brother, fwiw. The assessment is really hopelessly clichéd. Probably anyone with any sort of sci/techie occupation would score fairly high on this, and for the record, I can't even remember my own cell phone number. (But I do have a phone phobia, so maybe he is on to something.) Presumably, if I can understand how to game the quiz and get a low number, I can't be autistic spectrum, because by virtue of the cliché, I can't ascribe motivations and mental states to whomever wrote the quiz.

If that. About 70% of Kanners autistics aren't even able to read the test.

lol at the first paragraph, reminds me of the parable of the pizza. ("There's no such thing as bad pizza.")

I can't remember my phone number either, I hate being asked for it. I tell people I can't remember anybody's phone number anymore, especially mine because I don't call myself, the guy who picks up is an a'hole. And then I have to look it up. I started to remember my last one right after I changed it. But when I turned 40 an evil brain surgeon broke in in the night and took some gray matter. Suddenly I can't remember what I had for breakfast.

I have a good friend who has an autistic son. He's really nothing like the stereotype. But she likes to say "if you've met one autistic person, you've met one autistic person."

I tried it again, to "game" the assessment:

I wonder which one I got "wrong"?

You should click that "chat with a therapist" button and find out. It'll be fun because you'll be spending money!

18 of 53. I added a few questions of my own.

On a few I leaned toward how I might have felt or responded when I was a kid. As a kid I'm sure I'd have been higher. Especially in my teens.

You often concentrate to the point you forget to breathe.

When wronged by a colleague you never seek revenge.

You approach having sex like any physics problem.

Interesting. 21

This felt a whole lot like those tests that (some) places will give, pre employment. I always love when they ask the same question again to see if you change your answer.

I got 20, a pair of tens. So naturally, I split to double down. No I don't want another drink. Can't you see I frequently get so strongly absorbed in one thing that I lose sight of other things?!
