Close-passed by Lamborghini Huracán
Damn rednecks of Silicon Valley.
This arse-clown was part of a group procession of Viagra-poppers who ran my wife off the road and then close-passed me. I would link the video, but there is too much profanity in the audio track.
(He finally moved over a bit by the time I had a good frame from the video that shows the plate.)
I thought it was a Camaro or something, but my 15 year old knows better (and has richer taste in cars).

Went out at 3:30AM yesterday to begin my longer ride. At 5:15 on a 3 laner each side of the median with the speed limit of 45mph had a couple of BOZO IDIOTS pass me a couple of feet off the bike lane white line with NO OTHER TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD.
Simply no common sense or concern for others.

He was probably taking the 'racing line'. Maybe he thought he was driving the Nurburgring.
Last week some DB passed me within a couple of feet along a residential road. He had the whole extra wide lane, no oncoming traffic. I was on a bike lane, just inside the fog line. He then turned off and I saw him pull into a driveway. I stopped to let him know it was a bit close. He got all defensive, saying that since I was inside a bike lane it didn't matter how close he was, and that if I didn't like it I should sue him, then pretty much said to fk off.. Pretty much what I'd expect from a guy like this, driving a hot car and living in parents' basement. So of I went.
Not five minutes later he caught up to me. Pulled beside me as I stopped and basically began to tell me that that wasn't his house, that it was his friend's, who was sitting next to him, silent. He came really close to offering an apology, but never did. I guess maybe he realized the mistake of telling stranger to f off in front of his own house. Not that I would have done anything, but it was a bit comical listening to him monologue on about the law and bike lanes, etc.
In the end I just told him all I want to do was get home without getting hurt, and I wanted to be on my way...and that I have the entire conversation and incident on video.
Sorry for the tangent.

No problem. I am here for the ranting.
The problem with my video is the only thing that is clear from it is I am swearing my head off at car #2 of a procession of five or six (and possibly that they were going well over the 40 mph speed limit), but it would not make for convincing evidence.
I didn't find out my wife was run off the road until 15 min later when she caught up to me. (She is fine BTW).

Look on the bright side though, if I ever get hit by a car, let it be something like that one. You pretty well know the car's insured and owned by someone who will stop if they hit someone. Or better yet, they don't stop, and you have them on camera.
Could have been worse. Could have been a stolen, uninsured '92 Geo Metro worth $300, driven by a drunk unemployed deadbeat with 7 DUI convictions, terminal liver disease, and a pending bankruptcy case. And he actually made contact, then took off.

I can see that. It sorta looks like it was in really bad wreck that bent up the car, and someone tried to straighten it out. I guess it's supposed to be artsy. There are buildings built in that style:
This may not be the best example, but it's AN example of what I mean.

along with road bikes as racing equipment on public streets?
what is a 'sports car'? Anything with a certain level of power? 2 seats? It's undefinable, or at least for the definition that you seem to be using. I might say the Mazda miata/ mx-5 is the quintessential sports car. Is there anything more dangerous about it than a Ford Taurus?
Something more sensible might be increasing registration fees on trucks and SUVs, but they are also hard to define.

Mtbs should be banned for the sake of environmental safety.

Let's ban existence and call it a day. Quite frankly, I've never had a shot at being wiped out by anything more than an old pickup or Suburban.
I sympathize over your wife's condition completely, of course. That's a wild day.

Seems like a typical weekend problem when everyone want to enjoy the road as though it's their own. My biggest weekend problem is MC clubs out touring. They all like to ride 2-abreast and the guy on the right won't move an inch for a bicycle. I've even had MC cops do it.

What the OP probably witnessed was the "drive a supercar program" (I forget the actual name of it) where they come to town with 6 or 8 supercars and sell the opportunity for a bunch of local stockbrokers, bankers, and attorneys to skip work for a day and rotate drivers as they make a circuit around the area roads. I saw their caravan come straight up Main Street here - at 4:30 PM no less, when the rest of us would just be getting off work, to see and envy them. I guess they'd be disappointed to know that most people were looking at the cars, not the drivers. Or the women didn't seem to notice at all.
So the bottom line is that the turkeys driving those cars may not have actually even owned them.
