Bianchi Campione del mondo ?
Hi everyone. I recently bought 2 old Italian bikes from a local man. One is an old Bianchi. I have no idea whether its authentic and perhaps its value.
Bianchi Campione del mondo (?).
In very good condition. Has been refinished at some point. The frame may be older than the Campagnolo group, but I am not sure.
I have posted a bunch of photos below.
Any input on value or additional information about the bike would be much appreciated.
Frame & Fork: Bianchi Campione del mondo ?
Serial Number - 164558
Size:
seat tube (c-t): 58cm
top tube (c-c): 57cm
headset tube: 16cm
standover: 83 cm
Front Derailleur: Campagnolo Record
Rear Derailleur: Campagnolo Record
Headset: Bianchi
Crankset: Compagnolo Strada 53/39
Bottom bracket : Bianchi
Pedals / Toestraps: Comapgnolo
Stem: TTT Special, 110m
Handlebar: TTT, Grand Prix 37cm (c-c)
Brake Levers: Campagnolo
Brakes: Campagnolo. Brev Inter.
Hubs: Bianchi
Rims: Nisi (32/40)
Seat: Brooks Professional
Pump: Matching / Bianchi logo.

That's beautiful. I am no expert on Bianchis this old but I think that integrated headset dates to the early '60s

My goodness! First the Colnago, now this one! Beautiful and well maintained bike. The right color.

Poster's earlier thread on machine resides here -

With respect to the "Campione del Mondo" transfer -
IIRC this is a reference which was placed on numerous models for a time
it is not a model name but refers to the World's having been won on a Bianchi cycle a few years previous
