Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Tufo or Stanīs sealant for tubulars as preventive measure?

Hi

I already used the "search" but just found bits of information.
Did anyone tried BOTH of the named products and can tell which one works better as preventive measure?
I mean with road tubulars (Tufo AND Conti)
For "afterwards" there is the tufo extreme.

Questions on questions...

How long do they stay effective? What to do then?
Should they fail, is it still possible to use (successfully) the extreme or they interfere in some way?

Thanks in advance!

i use both and they both work the same for me.
once it seals you can ride it for a very long time. on occasion it may lose some air overnight but just pump and go.

but yeah, usually it fixes it well enough to keep riding and not worry about it. Unless its a significant cut that is.

Yes, they work. I've used Vittoria Pit Stop and Tufo's sealant. If you get a big puncture or a cut all bets are off though.

I use the Stan`s , a little less than ounce in each tire.

No flats in over a 1000 mile but the back Vittoria Corsa CX tire is about shot.

Can the sealant be put into a tubular that does not have a removable valve core? If so, how?

With the Tufo a small plastic pipe is provided to this purposed.
Itīs explained in the instructions that itīs not the preferable way to introduce the "milk" though.
Probably it works but Iīd expect it to be a little messier.
