ID'ng an Alan Frame
While looking for AlAn decals a local engraver is going to use to pantograph AlAn onto the stem for my build, I came across a website called Velociao ,opened the page and there stood my AlAn.(anodized blue)
Via the writeup and the photos I learned my frame/fork are pre 1975.
1975 and later had the serial number on the seat tube and cable guides on the top tube.
Contacting these folks I learned that: the 'bolt on' setup on the seat stays was replaced by 1982 (with a one piece lug that allowed the seat tubes to screw/glue into lugs on the main lug.
The larger tube competition models were 80s models
Figured I'd share the find in case anyone else was looking at buying an AlAn and had questions as to the age. (because the older models were/are flexible flyers more geared to light weight riders who spin.)

I sent the original link to the fella I bought the fork.frame from (Peter Naimen)
He replied back: "That IS the bike I bought from a British (name withheld because he didn't ok it) collector of vintage bikes
two years ago".
Apparently Mr. Naimen discovered the bike was too big for him, and decided to part the bike out rather than re-sell it as a whole bike.
The burning question of how a 100% italian bike wound up with an english thread BB remains and one can only presume the bike was either custom ordered from AlAn with the english threading or the bike was ordered as a bare freame/fork and threaded by whomever built it up and sold it.
