OP, you have put your bike into gear 0. It's because you were on a steep hill, and you had to downshift in order to keep moving because you are new to road cycling & just building strength. In gear 0 your pedals will just spin. It's like neutral on your car, but completely different. Next time this happens you should try to shift both front & rear gears at the same time, vigorously. You have to do them both at the exact same time or it won't work, you might even put it in reverse. If that doesn't work, call your LBS to come out & give your bike a boost. Sometimes it's easier to get out of gear zero by upshifting while going back down the steep hill (going forwards of course).

Call me gullible, but I'd rather think the OP is being sincere... just in case.

If indeed a troll, very interesting. Most likely yes. Uses bad English, abrupt language to make you wonder what is really meant. Like the one about hitting the girl, and is the bike okay. That was where I figured it out.

This thread brings back memories of Sturmey Archer 3spd hubs and the dreaded "monkey gear" that pitched a few of us on our heads back in the 60s/70s.

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure. But then my perspective could be a bit skewed. I've been on another forum (not within BF) lately, and a lot of the posts over there are at about this level of ... um ... uh ... let's say, lack of education/experience. Astounding ... and actually somewhat alarming.

Claims he bought a Émonda ALR from summit bikes... if it's that new, I don't see how he could be having so much issues lol!

Poe's law is an Internet adage which states that, without a clear indicator of the author's intent, parodies of extreme views will, to some readers, be indistinguishable from sincere expressions of the parodied views.
