I got some bits and bobs from Amazon:

Some reflective stickers:

A 6-pack of wheel lights. I got mine in red.

A batch of QR skewer springs, because they get lost.

Yesterday's mail was good to me. After years of making do with a homemade bike stand I made from a pony clamp and black pipe I finally ordered a real one. The new Park Tool PCS-10-2 arrived yesterday, woo hoo!!

Gonna be nice to have a real bike stand as I work on the bikes.

The other think I got in was the new, black Thomson seatpost I needed to complete the new look I am giving the old Martelly bike. 6 degrees outside right now with another snow storm coming today so I doubt I'll be test riding this anytime soon.

Glad to finally get this back together.

I'm rebuilding some Campy Ergopower 8s controls.
Except for the lever and small flanged plastic bearing at the top, I ordered the other L/R Ergopower 8s parts shown below from Mercian Cycles in England.
I received them within 7 bs days in Henderson, NV.
Mercian didn't have the flanged bearings I needed, but I found EuroAsia Imports has them.
Unfortunately they only deal with businesses.
Today I'll see if a LBS has an account with them.

Boca Bearings is an excellent source for pretty much all small sizes. Used them extensively in radio control stuff.

I tried one RC source where I used to get pinions I needed to repair old Addam's Family "Thing" coin boxes.
I'll give Boca a try.
Much obliged.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!!
ok. i needed a 23mm puller for TA cranks.
i kept reading how sourcing a CCP-1 is difficult and expensive, and that reproduction pullers are $40 and up, which is true.
in looking for a puller on the bay, i noticed that the CCP-1 pullers have threads on each side of the part that goes into the crank arms. then i noticed that *some* pullers marked CCP-2 *also* have threads on both sides. i did a little internet sleuthing and read (somewhere) that "early" CCP-2 pullers still had the double threaded portion for TA cranks, as well as other, more common brands!
so, off again to ebay to look at CCP-2 pullers (modern day number is CCP-22) to see what style threaded portions they have. sure enough, i found some with the double threaded portion. i sent some messages to sellers, who did not have buy it now on their listings, but they did not want to entertain offers. interestingly, and somewhat baffling to me, is that i offered way more than the ending price of the auction i won, but the seller had refused my offer price. he even actually lowered the opening price during the auction too. i was the only bidder, was he expecting a bidding war on a crank arm puller? oh well, his loss, not mine.
anyway, point is: if you are looking for a double threaded puller that works on TA cranks, look closely at CCP-2 pullers. you might find a double threaded one in disguise. (at the time of this writing, there are two on ebay, both under $20)

One of the first bike specific tools I ever purchased. In 30 some years I don’t think I ever used the “flip side” but I’d never give it up, just in case

Decided to check the location of my cleats after watching a video on proper cleat placement. Discovered one of the screws missing, not to mention the poor condition of the cleats

Being the cheap guy I am, I looked for replacement screws! Decided not good enough. Got this in the mail today and mounted them.

Received this too but this is the wrong forum!

Picked this up at the store too. Again, wrong forum. Going to use this to haul all kinds of stuff around the property.

Anybody ever done this? Not done this?

So looking for Campa Gran Sport, I found this rear derailleur on the Bay. Asked a question and expressed interest, later made an offer below BIN price.
Then a msg from a Forum Member willing to sell a Gran Sport 3 piece set at a fair price. So I buy set.

Then the eBay seller accepts my offer and (as I feel obligated) I end up with 2 rear derailleurs. Not a bad thing on a ~60 year old part. Besides the black face will work on the Rickert.

Spring for jockey cage seems weak - any suggestions?

I saw this belt on Instagram from guertel_michel and thought it was cool. He upcycles cycling bits to make belts, jewelry, key fobs, all kinds of cool stuff. I had just mounted a pair of Continental GP 5000s, and saw this belt. I love the new tires, and now, the belt is cool too. Michel is in Germany, and with the Covid delays it took a long time to arrive. I was surprised that the GP5000 belt looks brand new, no road miles having passed under this tread. Funny, I just consigned a well worn Panaracer Pasela to the bin with a sidewall gash that I didn't trust fixing. If I had his skill, it would have made a scruffy looking high mileage belt. The small piece in the picrure is a free key fob holder also made from the tire. Here's his Instagram.

Various bits and pieces.

A new pin for the Carradice bag, new frame decals for the Koga-Miyata WorldTraveller project, a complete set of 1988 till 2014 Koga-Miyata brochures with all the technical details (!) and what is most likely a Koga-Miyata Randonneur mixte.
