Choosing a used hybrid

Hi everyone, I'm new to biking and am considering a hybrid bike to commute short distances to school and nearby errands here in Atlanta. I'm looking for a used bike so I can stay under $200 and have been looking on Craigslist and Facebook. I've found a Giant Farrago for $15 that's in need of a tune-up, and a Trek Multitrack 720 for $50 that could use some new tires. I'm not sure what the years are for either of these bikes...

Do either of these seem like decent options? Or should I keep looking? Any suggestions for good brands/models?

Thanks so much for your help!

First the obligatory buy the one that fits. That out of the way, both bikes were probably built in the same factory. I still ride my Trek 720 MT. Solid bike, great commuter. The Giant might also be a good bike, but avoid it if it has an aluminum frame.

Those Trek MT’s are excellent choices. Work as drop bars conversions too!
