Giant TCX saddle clamp bolt size?

Hi,

I have a Giant TCX Advanced Pro 2 with a carbon D-fuse seat post. I need to adjust my saddle after it shifted going over a bump, but found that none of my Hex wrenches fit the saddle clamp bolt.

Does anyone know if this is a Torx or Hex bolt? - mine seems to be rather chewed up and it's difficult to tell.

The bolt head is much bigger than a Torx T-25, but seems too small for a 5mm Allen key. 4mm keys are also too small, so it seems to be something in between which is very odd!

I think in the past I had used a larger Torx head (T30?) - but can't recall.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

If it's really buggered up you'd probably do well to pick a slighly large (T30) Torx head and hammer it into the bolt. That will essentially create the grooves you need for the bit moving forward. Just my two cents.

Thanks. Ths T30 fits quite well, which is why I’m wondering whether it *is* actually a T30 bolt originally. It just seems an odd choice if it is true. Normally they are 5mm bolts, right?
