It was SOOO nice this morning I told the family I would meet them at Church by bike. Slow roll then afterwards another half mile to my favorite cafe’ stop, Port City Java. Then Volare took me down the greenway to home for lunch.

almost fall like this morning!

All the way to the end of the trail, it just drops off right past my rear tire and the river is on both sides.

Where is this? It reminds me of the Shenandoah River in VA. I rode a short trail along the river in Front Royal yesterday, but didn't have a chance for any pictures.

I did try to take a quality picture of my Roam with a cool sunset in the background on Friday evening. It didn't come out as well as I had hoped, but the sun rays cast against the cloud really showed up.

It looks like your bike is holy! Still a pretty cool picture.

My picture is on the Greenbelt in Kingsport, Tennessee. It’s a pretty trail but with a terrible smell from the nearby factories.

Try activating HDR next time (most cell phone cameras have that function today). This photo would really benefit from it. But you need to hold the camera perfectly still as it actually takes several photos and then overlays them.

So awesome ! The best Taco stand in the area is now going to be right on my way home !
Cant wait to try this place out next time I am down there.

The heat is getting a little better here in Florida, did a nice 49 today on the Surly. I always look forward to riding my Surly on Saturday, it’s such a fun bike to ride.

Took a little Sunday morning ride around downtown Cincinnati. Took our usual weeknight route with a few detours.

looks like a few of you guys have disc brakes & rear racks. are those specifically for disc brakes with welded stand-offs? or did you add spacers of some kind?

If the rear caliper is inside the rear triangle, you typically do not need special rear racks. My Giant Roam is like this, and I installed a standard Topeak rack on the back (picture below). If the rear caliper is outside the rear triangle (usually on top of the seat stay), then you may need a special disc brake rack, because the caliper is in the way of a rack strut that mounts to the frame.

IMG_20180530_170321328 by jnjadcock, on Flickr

You can see (Roam above) that the caliper's positioning doesn't interfere at all with the rack strut, so a special rack is not needed. My mountain bike is pictured below, with a seat stay-mounted caliper. In this case, it's possible that I'd need to use a special disc brake rack to clear that caliper's position on the frame. I'm not sure if the caliper is quite inboard (towards the wheel) enough for a straight rack strut to clear it (you can see where the rack mounting holes are on the dropout below the caliper).

All around the city to see the hurricanes fury. Did not feel right about taking pics of other people’s misery. Place is a mess BUT, could have been worse. Drop bar hybrid rolls over most debri with out a hitch and still able to rough ride it around the big stuff. Downed cables are another matter and floating through deep water not possible!
