Linear Pull Levers for 23.8mm Porteur/Moustache Bars
My utility bike is currently set up with drop bars and v-brakes using some tektro brake levers that have low enough mechanical advantage to provide a strong pull for the brakes. I'm thinking of swapping them out for some porteur style bars or the velo orange belleville. The complication is that it use bar-end shifters, so I have to get 23.8mm diameter bars to house them. With the new handlebar setup, I'd like to have the brake levers mounted underneath the handlebars like you usually see on this kind of setup.
Currently I know my options include:
-for about $40-$50, getting regular reach levers and using travel agents
-for about $80-90, buying very expensive brake levers (VO Grand Cru, for instance)
Does anyone know of other levers which would be appropriate, or other workarounds? Ideally, something less expensive than getting travel agents. Thanks in advance.
My apologies if this is not the ideal place to post this thread.

there are end bored 22.2 bars made, and I had some Nitto ChromeMoly bars
the company took advantage of the material strength to use thin wall tubing,
so also they are 22,2 OD and can take a bar end shift lever. [they're not cheap ]

So you are looking for a long-pull compatible bar-end brake lever but still want to use your bar-end shifters? Because that last one is going to be impossible. I've looked and haven't been able to find anything.
VO makes their Porteur bars in both a 22.2mm or 23.8mm lever diameter version. The 23.8 is easier in regards to finding levers but rules out most handlebar grips as they are made for 22.2 (MTB/city) bars.
Some examples are:
Dia-Compe (22.2) & (23.8), Tektro (RX4.1) and SOMA used to make one as well. Last time I contacted them they were designing a new version.
I have also seen people use crosslevers and the Tektro aero levers in reverse as a sort of bar-end lever. These would still enable you to use your bar-end shifters.

23.8 is road bar tube, I used road brake levers in my Mustache bars, turned sideways...
I have a set of Pauls Top Mount brakes [to Sell] , moving the pivot pin changes the cable pull ratio ,,
