The second video was even better than the first, which I hadn't thought possible. Keep them coming.

Great video and audio too. Post locations if you can. Just make sure you stay safe on those roads. Will subscribe.

Yep it says 'guys" rather than couple.

If you go through northwest Arkansas, I'm a bike mechanic and my wife speaks French. We have an extra bedroom and access to a full bike shop if you need a rest stop.

The drone video where it pulls back to show you riding along the highway was remarkable. A terrific addition to what is a very well done blog in its own right.

Thanks again, I will follow along.

Thank you for your encouraging words!!

Thank you all for your nice word, we are not professional of photo and video stuff, and learn to fly this drone on the road. We don't prepare any scenario and jut keep taking footage and see later how we organize all that!

I'm a bit upset about the quality after it's uploaded on Youtube and I don't know if it's like this only for me with the internet access we have right now, but the video looks highly compressed even in 1080.
Do you have the same kind of ugly result? (click to enlarge)

Wow, looks like 360p. Anyway, I haven't uploaded anything in a long time, but when I did my results were satisfactory. On the other hand, everybody complains about youtube compression. There are a few youtube vids available on how to maximize upload quality, but I haven't tried any of them yet.

Can you tell me if you see the same on your side, when you are in 1080 and the time 4:20 aprox.?

As a Yankee from the New England states, I had no experience of desert terrain until a holiday to Baja California. I was surprised then to find great beauty in the desert. Furthermore, the lack of moisture in the air produced air clarity that was startling. Mountains in the far distance seemed as if one could merely reach out and touch them. At night it also seemed as if I could just reach out and touch the stars. I came to realize that advertising people were wrong. The Earth is not getting smaller. It is just as big as it ever was if we slow down life enough to see what is in front of us. I hope your experience cycling America is a as rich as my travels have been.

The video quality is excellent to me. In fact, I was just commenting to my wife that your video looks like it could be shown in a theater. In fact, I hope you DO show this in a theater when you get home.

I am really enjoying following your ride. I don't know how you have the time to ride AND produce such great videos. Thank you!

Thanks Papa Tom for your message!
It take a certain time to do the videos, files need to be converted, mounted and compressed... We try to do everything in 1 day, and we some times ask to stay for a working day on the computer when somebody host us.
but it required a certain organization !!

Usually we ride 3 to 4 days, and take one resting day.
Friday after riding 50 miles in the morning we have stop to a McDonalds for upload the las movie and work on the mails.
Then, Friday evening after 3 days riding and 150 miles we have stop to take 2 days off at a really nice WarmShower host in Prescot Valley. Here we work on internet, we spent together for Easter, and spend a really good time with this lovely couple.

But it take a lot of time yes, we want to answer to all the questions, Facebook, comments in Youtube, mails, forums, and I try to resolve a problem of video quality iin Youtube!

Remember, OP has the original, so he can see how much difference there is between his original and what we're seeing by the time it gets to youtube.

I don't really do videos at all, but my take on things is that places like Vimeo have an advantage over youtube for this aspect--but the reality is that youtube is a global standard and easy for anyone to find and view a video, which to me seems to be more of an advantage to travellers who would like their work to be seen by more people.

and while I understand your comment, coming from a visual background and appreciating the details of quality, their trip vlogs do look pretty darn nice even on youtube, in my opinion, and I never thought while watching them, "oh, that looks crappy".

I could be wrong on the whole vimeo vs youtube thing.

Of even more concern to me (being that I am riding this route vicariously with the OPs!) is that they are spending any time at all worrying about the quality of their videos while they are out experiencing what will probably be the best memory of their lives.

Many of us are seeing crystal clear footage somehow or another, so the original video must be just fine. Keep riding, guys, and don't worry about us. We are all having a great time living the dream with you. You can sort out the pixels and resolution when you get home!

3rd video in US :)

Good evening!!

Right now we are in the Welcome Center of the Monument Valley, stack there from 2 days because of the crazy wind and dust storm... impossible to stay outside!
But the nice men working at the Welcome Center offered us a place where to stay .

We feel a bit sorry to not be able to answer to each of your comments, it take a lot of time and we don't have often internet. But we read everything!

Here the link of our third little movie :

We had a look for Vimeo, but it cost about 70€/year to be able to upload more than 500mo by week....

We wish you all all the best, tomorrow we take the road to Page and North Rim Grand Canyon.

It like any profession, once you understand how it works you will notice the more of the limitations, and the flaws. TS has high standards, and he recognized that the quality of his video could be much better. As you can see, the latest video is 100% improved resolution from the previous one. This is what he was asking about.

It wasn't a short video but it kept my attention the whole way through. That means you're doing something right. I found the scenery and the aerial views especially captivating. Your attention to detail is apparent; and your desire to submit the very best quality you can speaks volumes. I'm sure your audience appreciates it. I certainly do. Very well done!
