Mukluk vs Beargrease 2018

My local lbs has both on sale-- mukluk nx1 for $1499 and the beargrease carbon slx for $1999.
As a beginner mtn biker, would I be able to feel the 2.9 pound weight difference and also the increased maneuverability of the beargrease?
I will be using the bike year round and I currently gravel race, so might opt into some races that have a fatbike category.
Otherwise, it will mostly be used on the single track trails here where there are a ton of hills with rooty and rockey terrain.
