Hi everyone. I live just north of Seattle. Started early retirement about one year ago. Returned to cycling about 3 months ago after a 20 year absence. Bought a new Specialized Diverge two months ago as my 25 year old Schwinn was just not cutting it. Really love the Diverge. It’s the best bike I’ve ever owned and probably the only one that’s ever fit me properly. Been working on building up my cycling muscles, first on an indoor trainer and now outside with the nice weather. I returned to cycling for pleasure and to give me some good exercise. I’ve been reading this forum for a few months now. Have learned a lot and I just wanted to introduce myself before starting to post.

Hello Mark and welcome! It's nice when you find that perfect bike fit. I can totally relate.

C&V has some active members that ride around and not far from you. Centennial Trail, routes into the mountains/foothills, and some other spots draw us. Being retired you are vintage enough, the bike doesn’t have to be.

I don’t know who or what “C&V” is. Can you elaborate?

The Classic and Vintage forum has members from Greenlake, Bothell to Everett, Snohomish, etc. Also the regional forum PNW is good too, but slow for traffic . We need a Fall ride some where?!?

I am am south west of Issaquah. Coalfield district.

Welcome to the forums
cycling for pleasure is the best.
What Specialized Diverge model did you get?
I was checking them out when I bought a Allez Elite this week.

I got the Comp model. I really liked the feel of hydraulic brakes and I also wanted the Shimano 105 gears. I also wanted rack mounts in case I got more adventuresome in the future. I was debating between aluminum and carbon frames, but in the Diverge series, I had to go to the carbon Comp model to get what I wanted. It was more than I initially wanted to spend on a new bike, but it should last me for many years. It just feels awesome every time I ride it, which makes it worth it to me.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll check out C&V. I actually live in a small patch of unincorporated Snohomish county between Lynnwood and Bothell, so they would be very close by.

I know 2 guys riding from Anacortes area on Aug 26, after visiting the classic&vintage bike show. Looks like a town celebration weekend - arts & crafts and hopefully some beer. Show starts at 11, our ride probably about noon. Probably ride from Skagit Regional Airport area (miss the town traffic jam), north to Samish Island and maybe towards Bellingham.

Our ride will not be a part of the one stated on their flier.
