Hi!


I found this place looking for pictures of my old 1977 Schwinn Superior.


I remember it as the most comfortable bike ever for me. But it didn't last very long. About a year after I got it we met with a car driving on the wrong side of the road near Pella, Iowa.


I must have owned about a half-dozen bicycles since then, none I liked as much as that Superior.


I'm having my mid-life crisis. Thinking of getting a Surly Long Haul Trucker. Hoping it is as much fun as that Superior was.

Back in the day bicycles were meant to be ridden, not carried eh? Lots of Superiors and the like can be found if you're able to refurbish them yourself, just turn a blind eye to the profit motive.
I just enjoy hoisting my 40+ pound examples up onto the work stand while I still can.

Welcome. I once had a Schwinn Continental, I wonder if they're similar. Mine was stolen. I went on to get better road bikes, but would consider going back now as these aluminum frames are too stiff for an old guy's bones. I hope you find another one.

Does anybody know what the top tube measurement of a 22" 1977 Schwinn Superior is?

I'm trying to use it to find the best size for my next bicycle.
