Stripped, parted out and sold on eBay like the trashed crash puppy she was. Sold those Williams 38's too. Total out of pocket cashish for the swap: $300. Made sense to me. I wasn't riding those Williams anymore anyway. Really digging those Zipp 404 clinchers, and if it's really a hilly ride or race I go 404 tubie.

That's OK. That Joule 2.0 is the best bike computer EVER. Everybody I know who has one loves it to death. I run it with the Powertap or on my two road bikes as a stand alone bike computer that also does HR and altitude. Great unit.

Cool bike. I missed the Scott crash story, is there a thread I should be searching for?

BTW, what do you think of the DA wheels? I've hardly ridden mine, so really haven't had the chance to formulate an opinion on them.

Scott was only scratched in the crash, then scratched again in the case on the airplane (my fault). But the frame was really fine. Just figured that I could get a whole new bike for a few hundred bucks, and with the heavy miles I ride, that made sense to me.

The D.A. wheels are amazing. Best non-aero wheel I've ever ridden. Wider profile so they ride better (same thing Zipp is doing now) and the CF material in the rims really takes the edge off the stiff riding Scott. Plus they're very light for clinchers (1400 grams or so). $1300 retail in this country, you can get them from PBK or Wiggle in the UK for $800 (and then you may get dinged for $80 by US Customs like I did). But for $900 the best wheel set out there in my view short of CF aero wheels.

Hated it the first week, too stiff. Then I changed the wheels to the Dura Ace and started getting used to it. Now I LOVE the friggin bike. Climbs and handles like nothing I've ever ridden. A bit choppy on chip and seal roads, but some vertical compliance, and great on smooth roads. I have done a ton of 70-110 mile rides on it this year, no problems.

I put about 5000 miles on this bike this year, took it to Greece, a TON of epic rides and climbing. LOVE It.

Well done on the new Scott, $300 for the swap isn't bad at all. The Joule 2.0 uses Ant+ correct? I've been entertaining the idea of a Qarq or SRM and the Joule 2.0 sounds like a good head unit.

In no post that contains a pic inside pcad manor has the bench gone unmentioned. It has been coveted almost as often as his bikes that pose in front of it.

I'm waiting on my shiny new crash replacement bike...my Giant TCR Advanced SL ISP was taken out during a race in July. So was the front 404. So were the Pro carbon bars. All because I apparently race with a$$hats. Replacement frame comes from Giant in November, but bought a Kona to build up for racing and crits.

I need to break out my D.A. wheels and try them some more. I did pick up the Zipp 101s, so it might be fun to try them back to back. Being a wheel junky has its advantages...

Take that '$300' with a grain of salt, it was more like $900, I sold my old Williams 38's for $600+ and threw that money in. The new Scott was more important to me than the Williams wheels that were hanging in the garage.

That's the price of bike weenie happiness. That and sponsoring this race team. Hey, works for me.

Sure rides nice. I had to get different brake shoes for my Zero G brakes, the stock ones were too thick, called the company and they said I needed the narrower profile shoes they're making for some of these new wider rims. The narrower profile brake shoe holders did solve the problem.

Hmm. I wonder how that will work with Canti brakes. The bigger issue is how I will train on clinchers and easily throw on the wider rims for a race.
