Trek July Challenge on Stravia

Trek has a announced a July Challenge on Stravia. Ride 100 miles and get a tee shirt. Ride 500 or 1000 miles and be entered into a drawing for a new bike. You must join the challenge and track your rides on Stravia.

Since I hit 100 in June I should be able to do that in July. Who's with me?

July goal 125

July goal 125 miles

07/01 10.16

If you had told me a year ago I'd be riding 10 miles on a Monday morning, I would have called you nuts!

I joined in too. Really want to hit 500 miles, but we will see. The weather isn't cooperating so far, and doesn't look to improve this week.

100 miles for July should be a piece of cake, but not enough hours in the day to swim, bike, run. That's my story, but might just do that 50 mile in Katy, Texas on July 21st (It's getting hot here!).

Is it 100 miles in one ride or 100 miles during the month?

100 during the month. I put my 1st 10 in this morning and it shows my progress on the challenge.

Thanks for the heads up. I probably won't make 500, but it cost nothing to join the challenge. Now if I can remember that I set a goal, maybe it will lead me to ride more miles. And it's a good idea, since I plan to do a century in September.

I'm in. Pretty sure I'll beat the 100, but will keep an eye on what I can do beyond that.

Signed up last night. Hope to beat the 100 this week. Depends on how my knees feel after biking 500 last week on a bikepacking vacation.

I joined the challenge but hadn't realized it until I looked at it again on Strava just now. 100 should be do-able, 500 wouldn't be impossible, but may require more spare time than I have this month. I've got another century coming up in November (lived through the one last month so I'll probably survive another), so the additional riding would do me good.

Should be a piece of cake to get the t-shirt. Will Trek mind that I ride a Specialized? Finished June with 332. (I should probably update the June miles thread).

I'm in, but my average maintenance ride is about 14miles so I'm using it to try and improve my discipline and get out there before the heat. I'm in the process of switching to Strava from Map My Ride though. I need to get back to doing 30-40 mile Sunday rides on the extended MUP circuit in my area.

Welcome to the 21st century. Everything you do is being tracked, but in this case it's just a new iteration of "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours." The only thing you can do is be the best person you can be and know how to deal with things when they go bad.

Hmmm, I think I talked myself into finally joining Facebook. It's a valuable networking tool. I rode up on a group ride on the local trails and they extended an invitation for me to join. "Just look us up on Facebook" I was told was all that it would take. I may change my legal name though.

You'll go insane looking at the top of any leaderboard on Strava. Filled with people who seem to have all the time in the world (including sleep time) to cycle.

Sure. I'll try it. I had 6 rides and 100 miles in May, and fell off in June. Working a FT job and finding that kind of time is tough.

You only have to get 100 miles for the t shirt. They wanted my email and shirt size, told me t shirt would be available at local Trek dealer in Sept. 500 miles will get you entry into a drawing for a fancy new Trek. Don't think 1000 miles gets you anything extra.

I’m #44,118 on the leaderboard at 29.14 miles. I can make the 100 miles but I don’t want another Trek anyway; we’ve got 3.

I have to be honest though: I’m not digging Strava. I’m used to Map My Ride. Trailforks is an absolute mess IMO.

I dont like Stravia's dashboard. I much prefer the one on Samsung Health. I run Stavia in the background concurrently.

LOL, you've exposed yourself as an Android. That explains the inhuman amount of miles!
