Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You're going to need a small arsenal to protect all that.

I just heard from my friends heading north. They crossed the border without incident, except for thorough searches. They are driving a full size Ford van, with a concrete love seat in the back. A Mexican thing.
No temperature checks. No testing of any kind. A perfectly normal border crossing. One of them was on a plane with a cougher just a week ago. They could both be superspreaders and no one cared to check.
Sad!
Heading to se Colorado. Four Corners area.

They are a midwestern city. Friendlier, but a little slow on the uptake.

I am going to do a Zwift meetup ride with my club this evening. The leader chose to make it “keep everyone together” which means even if I dial it up to 400W I can’t drop anyone. It’s the super-kumbaya ride option.

Well, OK, they can go to Durango or whatever. They better not actually go to 4 corners monument and step into the AZ quadrant even for a second!

Our boatyard, having no working boats in it, is a nonessential business, of course. We had a first week of April launch date. First world problem.

Vet school put a stop to my party ways. Zero spare time will do that.

PS I have very memorable hangovers. I think I maybe was off tequila for around a decade after one in particular.

I enjoy wine with dinner. Most nights but not all.

I like various fruity cocktails.

Beer is pretty good too but let to my own devices, wine > spirits > beer

in other news, my company is still insisting it’s business as usual, “but we do care about our coworkers, so anybody wants to can work from home”. I have three guys working with me and am putting in a rotation where we are two at the office on a given day. That’s the best I can do right now

So work went to an emergency skeleton crew schedule. 2 weeks on, 4 weeks off. The on duty personnel get 10 hours and on call , 2 weeks at a time. Except for me I get 2 on , 2 off. Fml. Guess who gets to pull the first rotation... corectumundo, your truly, fml harder
off duty is on call from 6:30 till 300. Check in every day.
This is serious shiz if they are going to pay people to stay home

We are now not allowed out except for food or medicine if we are not essential. Lawyers are expressly defined as non-essential unless we have court-related duties. We can also go out to exercise, walk the dog, etc., alone.

My senior year in college sometimes we would go out on Thursday until after watching L.A. Law, which ended at 11. I had to be at work at 6 the next morning. These days it’s rare for me to be awake at 11.

Totally stopped all that when I went to law school.
