Mixed spoke types ?
Older Raleigh competition...
I guess the bike shop that did work on my wheels a while back mixed spoke types and I didn't catch it.
On the back wheel I found a few plain-gauge spokes mixed in with the double-butted spokes. So I replaced those with the correct spokes.
However the front wheel has a lot more plain-gauge spokes.
Is it worth replacing them with the correct double-butted spokes?

Are the current (not replaced) "correct" spokes original?
IF they are, they have the same fatigue life as those that broke.
Like pop corn, they'll soon be popping faster too.

The plain-gauge spokes are probably replacements. Like Bill, I’d be suspicious of the remaining original spokes at this point.
Try giving them a good stress-relieving and see if you can pop any!

Sounds like more going on then replacement due to breakage, maybe nipple freeze up and rounding off? If this was an English Raleigh I would not at all be surprised at nipple issues so many years later driving replacement needs. If the OP was comfy with wheels I would suggest detensioning the spokes till the rim is no longer being prodded or pulled into true. Spin the wheel with really lax spoke tension and you'll see the rim's actual condition. Based on this observation I might then replace all the spokes/nipples, or not if the rim is wavy or has flat spots. Andy
