Cyclists injured in accident in La Verne, Labor Day weekend

Does anyone know about the collision between car and cyclists at the intersection of Wheeler and Baseline in La Verne, on Labor Day morning (I believe)? Some members of our bike group saw the aftermath with the first responders on the scene and heard that a couple of the cyclists had critical injuries and also a possible fatality. We have not been able to get confirmation on the fatality and the condition of the injured cyclists.

Apparently, the driver in the eastbound lane was turning left and collided with the cyclists who were crossing Wheeler. It is possible the early-morning sunrise blinded the driver who missed seeing the cyclists during the turn.

Any details about the facts would be appreciated.

Thanks!
