Going on First Group Gravel Ride-Etiquette?
I'm going to go on my first group gravel ride on Saturday. I do a lot of gravel/mixed surface riding, but solo. I have been on several club rides on the road and I think I understand the road etiquette, for the most part. I can hold my own as far as pace and climbing and it is supposed to be a no drop ride.
Is there something I should know about group gravel rides so as not to endanger myself or others, and also so I don't piss anyone off?

Be warned when group-riding....Panaracer GravelKing SKs spit gravel backwards. If you're too close you'll eat some....and others might notice the same if you're running them.
Also give more room on descents, you never know when someone might grab the brakes.

It's pretty much road rules with less drafting. #1 rule around here: Don't be a dick. That takes care of just about everything.

If you are unsure of things, ride in the back. Move up later as you see how things are or do it the next ride.

Im a newbie too, and I like this advice. Made a mistake on the first group trail MTB ride I went on. I thought everyone was going together and ended up with the Black Diamond boys... wasn't prepared for that with my rigid frame lol. Just thinking the same principle would apply on a gravel ride.

I'm REALLY new to all this. So, on a "no drop ride", what if you're just really slow? I'm possibly the slowest guy on gravel I don't care if get dropped. Do you just tell the other rider(s) to leave you behind, that you're cool with it? Or is somebody required to hang back with you? I wouldn't want to hold another rider back.

^^ If there is a ride leader tell him that you might be dropping back. Heck, tell someone that you are dropping back just cause you want to. That way, they know you didn’t puncture or in distress.
