Keeping fender in place

Like several others, I'm riding a disc frame with no fender mounts so I've turned to the SKS SpeedRockers. My setup looks almost identical to that of forum member westrid_dad posted here: bikeforums.net/21260395-post651.html. Specifically, I'm having trouble with the front fender:

cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikeforums.net-vbulletin/2000x1504/20191226_161358_8b0336303fbbf98b7490692e91c413f1be3af8fd.jpg

My fork is even more tapered; 55mm at the top of where the mount sits, and 50mm at the bottom. I also have helicopter tape around the fork to try and increase friction, but the fenders still slide down after 10-15 miles of riding. Any suggestions for keeping them up, other than buying a different fork?

I don’t have a tapered fork but I’d try wrapping tape below at the each mount. Build up a layer thick enough to keep the mount from sliding down. The thick waterproof polyurethane tapes would work. Guerrilla glue makes one.
