those are really nice bikes!
I'm a bit surprised to see a Hetchins in the group, if only because Italian racing bikes seemed to be the preferred bikes in those days. Good to see that someone appreciated that sort of over-the-top lugwork! (speaking as a Hetchins owner myself).

Good stuff!
If we are dreaming about which one we’d like to find at the neighborhood garage sale, I am leaning pretty hard toward Somec.

I would hope for the 3Rensho or the Hetchins, but I wouldn't pass on the Kellogg or the Somec.
Every time I run across a Spectrum, it reminds me of a tour I did in Vermont in 1986 with Vermont Country Cyclers (or Cycles, or Cyclists).
Among our group of 14, there were 5 cyclists all from the same advertising agency in Philadelphia who each rode a custom-built Spectrum.
One of them was a young guy, maybe mid-20s then, who was credited with writing the BIC Banana ads.
He was always cracking wise, but in a funny, non-obnoxious way.
One of his colleagues rode up to me one day and said "You can't believe how much money we pay him to think that way".
I didn't ask how much mostly because I didn't want to know.
