Unicorn Ti bikes at the Denver Veloswap
I was in Denver this weekend for the Veloswap, and came across the Unicorn ( unicorncycles.com ) stand. I thought this would be of particular interest to cross bike owners, so posting here.
Jason, the owner, is an ultramarathon biker who was looking for an established company to build him a ti frame to his needs, with a gazillion eyelets in weird places and custom geo, at a reasonable price. He could get his frame built, all right, but it wouldn't be cheap. Custom ti frames in the US are typically $4-5K from the top tier of titanium builders (IF, Seven, Moots, Eriksen). So he thought, why not design such a frame on my own and have it built in the far east? That's exactly what he did, and kept doing for other people.
For $1400, he can give you pretty much anything you want in a 3/2.5 ti frame only, with spiffy deals for forks (he showed a stock carbon fork with internal disc routing for $200 more). Gazillion eyelets no charge!
I like this guy and what he's doing. It's a bridge between the stock ti frames coming from the far east (Motobecane/Kinesis via bikesdirect) and boutique ti.

I dig the MTB crankset spacing on it. Much more options available. So $1600 for a full custom Ti frame and carbon fork? Plus all the eyelets I could ever want in my life?

Yes indeed, $1400 base price plus $200 for the fork, all in. That's what caught my attention.

To clarify, $1,400 for a fully custom frame. +$350 for the Rode Labs Spork Fork. $200 was a special price for the show. The fork has ~42mm-44mm clearance. Thanks, bargainguy for the review.

interesting design. and that is meant in a good way, not in a negative way.
Wonder why both ends of the drops have plastic wrap on em.

@mstateglfr , the ends of the handlebar drops aren't wrapped in plastic wrap. I use a 2" section of an old inner tube to ensure the handlebar tape doesn't come undone
