Vintage Rider of Vintage Bikes

Hello from Ontario, Canada. I have been wrenching and riding both road and mountain bikes since 1985. Have a couple of 1980's Cannondales in the stable that are ridden regularly. I recently started lurking on the forums with the intent of researching more up to date equipment. After exploring the vintage threads I have ditched that idea in favour of my existing vintage rides. It is great to see so much interest in the older bikes and I am looking forward to learning how my fellow cyclists have either restored or updated their rides.

Refreshing to hear someone reads our C&V and likes the idea of keeping the older ones on the road. Makes me smile.

Sadly we have become a "throw-away" society and victims of both psychological and planned obsolescence. My personal preference is for durable products that I can maintain and/or repair so vintage bikes get a big thumbs up.

The attraction of newer and better is what drives an economy.
And truth said - most new bikes have worthy enhancements.
If that matters.
For enjoyment of the ride.
Just not me.
(tho I have 4 roadies with ERGO integrated brake/shifting+10sp cassette)

Welcome to BF.

Welcome from SW Ohio

Please tell me you don't ride a 55cm road bike, I don't need the competition
