317 miles MTD. Weather has been not great here this weekend. Very windy, and I got caught in a hard rainstorm yesterday. Today I had to put track pants on over my bibs and wear a sweat shirt. For a change though, I had a great tail wind on the way home.

With my first Metric coming up in 5 weeks, I need a minimum of 200 this month with a stretch to 250...

9/5: 24.23mi- 1:25:24@17.0mph. Very lonely group ride.
9/7: 52.00mi- 3:19:07@15.7mph. Shooting for 15+mph & first time over 50mi in a single ride!
9/13: 23.44mi- 1:24:43@16.6mph. Time limited, got what I could

Sat ride was a no-go due to wife working late. Planning another 50+ This week and the week of the 27th.

September Goal: 300 mi (Stretch: 325 mi) - Elevation Goal: 6000'
----------------------------------------
---------------
9/01: 15.1
9/10: 15.4
9/11: 15.1
9/12: 11.4 (Group Ride)

MTD: 86.6
YTD: 1121.3
WTD:
71.6

MTD Elevation: 2161'

The Jordan Lake ride was an easy ride until the end. Biked to a group ride (only 4.1 miles) and then about 21 miles with the group. The group split into two groups, and I wasn't ready to go 30 miles with the group at 16mph, so I went with the 20 mile ride. We had a cyclist that wasn't as strong, so we went her pace (12-13mph). We did have a strong rider that set the pace, so the rest of us got to draft off of him. Near the end, we got a nasty headwind on a valley, where I'm used to building up a lot of speed to help me up the hill. But the headwind killed my speed going downhill, so I had to do more work going up that hill than I was used to. And then had a little wind on the way home, to make it a pretty good ride.

I'm in for 150 stretch to however much I can get in. I have a charity ride coming up late this month, I'm riding the 35 mile leg.

8-3 2.0 quick shakedown ride with the girlfriend so she could try out the bike I built for her
8-5 5.0 easy ride with the kids
8-6 17.1 finally a ride for me with a couple of good hills and a little extra weight in the trunk bag to make me push a little harder
8-7 7.3 riding with the kids who did all but 2 miles of the ride (playground break)
8-11 19.4 went south of town and conquered 'Big Blue' a local hill that is only about a mile long but very steep changed out chainrings for a smaller one today and didn't have to stop half way. Yah!
8-12 20.6 west of town on a flat stretch

MTD 71.4

Chilly morning, and my first encounter with a fellow bike commuter! He caught up with me as I was stopped at a light, we both complained that wind is unpleasant, and off we went our separate ways. It was a fun new experience

September 7 - 22
September 10 - 22 miles
September 12 - 27.10
September 14 - 27.10. Same route as September 12, 2 minutes faster and I beat one of our local racers on a 4 mile Strava segment by 4 seconds, including another shorter segment at 24MPH for 2 miles. That was good for 9th on the short and 2nd on the long (22MPH)

My goal is to simply make myself ride at least 3x a week - preferably 4 -- since most of my rides are shorter MTB loops, - my monthly mileage will probably be less than 130

Have a Garmin 500, but havent uploaded it to a PC in weeks -- will have to do that soon

Brrrr, chilly out this morning. I did put a long-sleeved t-shirt over one of my wicking t-shirts, so my torso was warm enough. My fingers felt cold at the beginning of the ride, and my toes felt chilly at the end of the ride. My torso, arms, legs, and head felt fine. I may need to get shoe covers and full fingered gloves in the next week or so.

Another wonderful day on the bike. Stopped at my LBS on the way home to test ride a few road bikes, since I'm only 2lbs from my wife-set goal weight. Going from my 31lb Crossrip to an 18- or 19lb road bike is a total trip, haha, looking forward to going up hills faster just from reduced bike weight!

Today's commute brings me to a total of 200 miles for the month.

Pic is from Saturday's CX race. Third race so far this month. Racing again Wed nite and again on Saturday in Reno. CX season is off to a great start. Now if we can get a little rain that would make the fun even better!

Still a little chilly out there. Fingers warmed up, but the toes got colder. I went by the LBS, and they didn't have any full-fingered gloves that I liked. May have to look at shoe covers also/instead.
