Just one ride with 12 miles this month. Too much bad weather and getting home to late from work. (I don't like riding at night.) I have been doing some cross training (running) though. Hopefully things will settle at work a bit so I can get a few more riding miles in.

Are you a Florida Freewheeler?? Check out their Outer Limits Ride, if they are still doing it.
From Sanford to New Smyrna Beach for an overnite, then back via a shorter route.
It was a blast when I did it!
I am not sure if they still put it on,tho.

Ack! Looks like I'm out - I've developed an inguinal hernia and I'm off the bike for the rest of the month at least

Hadn't rode a bike in 28 years, my son did a 24 hour bike relay with some friends, and it looked like fun and got me interested again. On my 10th ride since purchasing my bike, I went 40.2 miles and was pretty happy with that. Have to figure out when I can ride because of work, but so far:
10/9 15.1 miles
10/11 40.2 miles

Had to cut the ride short, because I was getting to cold. Tried my new Jacket, but I only wore a short sleeved shirt underneath. Next time the temp is about 50F, I'll wear the short sleeved shirt, a long sleeve shirt, and my new jacket. At least the new gloves kept my hands warm.

Non omnino gravis
10/1 27.3 miles, 1,588ft^
The weekly errands with some climbing thrown in.
10/2 24.9 miles, 131ft^
Impromptu 40k attempt, but way too many stoplights before the MUP for it to be decent (or indicative of anything.)
Got good numbers for my LTHR on the mid-portion of the trail though.
10/2 25.5 miles, 682ft^
The ride home after the 40k nonsense.
10/3 5.6 miles, 158ft^
Leisurely morning ride with my daughter.
10/3 15.9 miles, 486ft^
Too much energy left over after the morning cruise. Neighborhood hot laps.
10/5 26.4 miles, 3,383ft^
Was falling behind on climbing, so I decided to do a whole bunch of it all at once.
10/6 75.5 miles, 2,149ft^
Woke up and figured I could knock out the Gran Fondo for the month. Got stung by a bee at mile 67. :|
10/8 39.7 miles, 1,991ft^
Circuit course I've done many times. Good mix of climbs and descents.
10/9 31.6 miles, 1,302ft^
Another loop course, out past the college and home. Zone 2 ride, managed to do 70% of the ride under 128bpm.
10/10 33.9 miles, 1,155ft^
Must have been feeling pretty good following the previous Zone 2 day, because I was just blasting the whole way.
Finished with a 17.7mph average, amazing as maybe 5 miles of it was on the trail, so I fought stop lights the
whole time.
10/12 62.3 miles, 2,546ft^
Didn't ride Sunday, so I decided to do a Metric, just because why not? Waaaayyyy hotter than forecast, so I ran out of water, started to hurt. Luckily I managed to make it to my vinyl shop and get my bottles refilled. Supposed to be mid-80s, instead it was 99º. Drank both bottles in the last 9 miles home.
10/13 32.3 miles, 837ft^
Recovery day, Zone 2.
10/14 43.6 miles, 1,220ft^
My SART + Riverside route, in reverse.
10/15 32.3 miles, 1,020ft^
Weekly errands. Killed an hour at the LBS.
10/16 50.0 miles, 2,795ft^
Rode 25 miles out to my brother-in-law's house to fix his gutters (with a backpack full of tools) then rode 25 miles back. TIRED.
MTD: 527.6 miles, 21,434ft^
I just might take Sunday off.

Just got my hardtail 29er back together and will be racing her tomorrow at a CX race. Bike now sports a slick SRAM 1X11 drivetrain and a sweet set of carbon fiber wheels. Shifting is silky smooth and bike is now super responsive and comes up to speed quickly with the light and stiff wheel set. Going to give the faster kids a run for their money on Sunday. Other bonus is my daughter is racing tomorrow too. This is her rookie season and I am really enjoying seeing her skills and confidence grow at every race.
Pic is from our mid-week night CX race. The 29er is the preferred weapon for night races for me since the lighting is low and makes it really hard to navigate around ruts, roots, and other debris on the course. 29er just rolls over it and keeps on going, despite my lack of CX skills.
MTD mileage is 321.
