Question - Campy Nuovo Record Rear Derailleur

Does anyone know whether a 1970 model Nuovo Record Rear Derailleur has a date stamp? It seems, as I research it, that is about the time that Campy started putting date stamps on them...but not sure if it was in 1969, 1970 or 1971...

And Don’t be confused by the no date stamp on the ‘85 and sometimes later models of NR Rear Derailleurs. These are obvious because of the difference in pivot pins. Early had alloy riveted rods, newer had SS(?) rivets with hollow ends. Too bad Campy didn’t use their newer style threaded pivot pins as seen on Carbon Front plate models.

I have had a NR rear derailleur with a 68, 71, 72, 73, 74, 77 and a few in the 80s date stamps. I have yet to run across one with a 70 stamp. I also seem to remember having one with a 69 stamp but not sure anymore. I did have a picture of the 68 but it is at the summer cottage, buried beneath the cottage, under a LOT of snow.

Confirmed -- mine (on a 1982 Bianchi with frame built in late 1981) says PAT 80.

Interesting! Are you sure you have had a NR rear derailleur with a "68" stamp? That would be a first for me. I was under the impression that pre 1970 it just said "Patent" (I do have one of those). Never seen any NR der. with a lower year than 70. Regarding a 70 stamp - here are my two:

Edit and PS - is the picture or the derailleur under the snow?

I am positive. As I recall, 1967 was when the numbering stamping began. I probably have a picture but not easy to access right now. Many of my pictures are on disc at my summer cottage and it is snowed in for another couple of weeks. And I do mean snowed in.
