Thanks! I did have a safe ride -- maybe in a few days I will remember it as fun, too
The weather was great. There was a ton of snow still on the ground, too, which was interesting to see. The last time I did this ride, I got rained and hailed on, so this was a definite improvement!

4th for me - the best weather yet. Some TnT folks I was riding with were having a tough day, and I stayed with them rather than chasing the 5 passes. Still had a great ride and ran into some old friends at the lunch stop. Great day for a ride!

Had a great time...great volunteer support, perfect weather and shaved over an hour from the past few years. Carson descent just sucks tho...time for a total repave.

Summary of ride report (hopefully to be completed soon):
First DR for me, 5 passes done. Great ride, spectacular views, nice support (only wished they had hammer products), huge crowds,
more than great company (@Beaker), altitude had some impact.

This was Death Ride number 10 for me over the last 12 years. I now have eight, five pass pins in my collection (and the Y2K grade pin.) Some years have been harder, some years easier and faster.
I could say this will be my last year, but none of my friends and family would believe it.

Just did my first DR. I finished all 5 passes, though it would be perhaps be more accurate to say that I finished 4 passes and Carson Pass finished me.
Perhaps I'll feel differently next year, but I can't imagine wanting to do this again. From everything folks said, this was one of the best years ever for weather and wind, but it still was painful like few other rides I've ever done.
It is just unfathomable to me now that I'd ever do this 10 times. At the moment, doing it a second time seems pretty unlikely.
Great support. Great scenery. Great roads. Too damn much climbing.

Yep. I barely survived my first DR. As we were driving home I swore to my wife that I'd never do it again. A month later I was planning next years season around it.
I'd have done my 9th this year but a family medical emergency kept me from going. I hope the weather will be as good next year.
