Yes, there's a story and an extended post to follow about the "Commasini", but here's what's actually waiting at the end of the rainbow.
As promised a more detailed post to follow with many, many questions and my thanks for your knowledge and help.
Oh, and no innocent was harmed, we who bid actually knew and the final bid price reflected that knowledge.
Take Care.

You always seem to find interesting and unusual bikes, @since6.

This bike came up for auction on the Shopgoodwill site. The strange name "Commasini" made me pause, but then the lovely chromed and stamped fork tops hooked me. When I finally got a look at the head tube decal I knew this was not a "C" but a "T" and that opened many doors of understanding, including Kevindale's excellent post on “Tommasini timeline and serial number registry”, a treasure to us neophytes. My guess is that I was looking at a 70s "Tommasini Racing", turns out several others had made a similar guess and the last 30 seconds of bidding was intense.
But, as often on the Shopgoodwill site I am left happy but also sad. This bike looks really well cared for and from the comfort seat and frame size I guess a grandma was riding it and must have been a real rider back in the day to have chosen a bike which in the 70s for me was unobtainium and only to be devoured by the eyes in the big city bike shop window. Forty years of memories, stories are in this bike, but somehow it got given away, yes to a good cause, but ...
Grandsons are growing up and Granddaughters from France come to visit next year. It will be a great time as I will have two granddaughter bikes waiting, but I will take them into my bike room and point to my smaller framed bikes and let them choose one. Then when puberty hits in a half dozen years or so, I'll send them a chosen friend, to ride through those peaks and valleys.
Then this bike may share its meaning once again.
