The daily commuter: 1989/90 Trek 950
I gave it some updates this weekend and just wanted to show it off a little. Not sure about the rear basket. It’s good for towels but not heavy items. The gum walls are original and still have the feelers in them. They aren’t very smooth on pavement so i ordered some Schwalbe marathons, but they’ve been back ordered

Awesome set up and mint. It looks like you can commute, tour, or do some trails. I located a few 930, 950, and 970. 1 for me and the others for friend and family. I love the Deore that comes on these bike. I currently have the 930 as a commuter..

Nice looking bike, but you may be more comfortable on a 22in frame (vs 20in).

Hang onto that one - unless you go one size larger! I have come to regret parting with my beat up blue 950 that I had built up as a single-speed - it was an awesome trail bike! Those 950s have the loveliest ride ...

I actually used to have a 22” version. It didn’t feel all that more comfortable and i was a little skier at controlling its response. I like the smaller frame. I feel like I have a little more control. I went with this stem bc I was a little torn on using risers or drops

I located another 930 non shk frame for winter commuting but it is so rusty I fear it will break before the season is over. It was free and the seat post is still stuck.
That 950 is a sweet looking machine! Would not mind seeing a before commute and after winter commute pics...

Very nice. My '87-88 Specialized Stumpjumper is my go to commuter with a rack and fenders.

Anyways, I've rebuilt three Trek 950s for family and they all very much enjoy them. I've got a couple of Trek 970s in my garage currently which are keepers. I'm a fan of them as well.

I got a blue 22" 950 for my son, not as clean as yours but still good. It has been a fantastic commuter and gravel rider.
