Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I'm listed as NYC in the results... Hmmm. If I was local, I wouldn't have gotten so turned around in Brooklyn. FUN race! Thanks to Victor and everyone who put this on.

I now know that I was never meant to be a breakdancer too. Bonus.

yeah, after the guy came out a few times to check on why his alarm kept going off and he was straight out of the sopranos--the hair, the track pants, the big arms with fists past his knees, the bullet divets in the bullet-resistant windshield, the hit-a-button-and-the-ignition-starts-get-away-thing--i started telling people to pretend to kick the hummer, but most people were still too amped to kick a ****ing hummer and did it anyway. it was fun til the guy angrily got in and drove off, leaving our checkpoint without a gimmick...

VD, you were the one doing the checkpoint with bianca and nona? Oh... I guess I've met you several times then and didn't know it. I was talking to you at the block party before the race.
