Wyoming 2019
Yellowstone does not come to mind as a bicycle friendly destination, with its 7 miles of off pavement bicycles allowed . Cody has an airport. Could not be that hard to stach a bike case and go for a roll around the place. Maybe even take in a rodeo, Since Cody hsa one 365 nights a year. Any idea where the song about a heater in my truck and Im off to the rodeo, came from? What about the hard side only camping areas? Like to hear from some people who have biked the area. Sounds so very interesting, that I highjacked my own to much computer thread to type about the area with the least places to login no doubt.
Any idea where Clouds Home Wyoming is?

You know - I posted the photo of Yellowstone because of the word play - "Log off"?
But the Yellowstone region can have pretty heavy traffic in summer with all the tourists.
Are you interested in doing any dirt? A little, some, mostly??
There are some excellent out-and-backs in the Cody region.
The Bighorns have a couple of superb, but tough routes.
The Green River Lakes with Squaretop Mountain are great.
But a month?
Don't know your touring style, mileage, or whether you've done the parks.
You can still enjoy the parks if you ride at dawn and hike midday.
A fine tour includes a Yellowstone-Glacier loop.
Up on the east side; down on the west side.
A month would allow you time to explore all the backroads.
Google "Kirwin, Wyoming".

hadnt thought of or heard that song in a heck of a long time.
I just remember laughing and the relative shock of it hearing it back then when it was out, can't imagine hearing it on the radio, but probably someone brought it to school on a cassette tape or something.
was fun to hear it again.
One dumb song thats for sure.

Cloud Peak is in the Bighorn Mountains - in the Cloud Peak Wilderness.
Access from US 16 or US 14.
The Bighorns are an upthrust block with fantastic wildflowers in June -
and stupendous canyons on both flanks.
Tongue River Canyon, Crazy Woman Canyon - east side
Tensleep Canyon, Paintrock Canyon, Shell Canyon - west side
To name but a few.
Access from US 16 or US 14.

Google maps shows 14 as a loop from Cody to the big horns. Long time since I passed taht way in a pickup. Is 14 a good place to pedal?
I see they finaly figured out the medicine wheel hasAstronomical Alignments[[url=https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Medicine_Wheel/Medicine_Mountain_National_Historic_Landmark&action=edit§ion=4]edit]
The Big Horn Medicine Wheel is one of four or five astronomically complex wheels that are publicly known to exist in the Rocky Mountain region.

US 14 is not a loop - there's US 14 and US 14A.
US 14A has a brutal grade on the western slope.
US 14 is incredibly scenic - esp. eastbound - but narrow.
US 16 has usable shoulders - plus great unpaved sections of the old hwy.

A month just is not enough
A month or 2 each year could be better, 3 months sounds good.
There you see, I asked about logging off, and the lads help me plan the best place to do so
thanks
