Here is the P1 Crit. Elevate/KHS was very disciplined focusing on holding their GC lead and practicing for the big races (maybe Utah, Colorado) - per race Director.
Junior (#7 LUX kit, green MASI) found a good spot and had to fight to keep it. Two years ago I think he might have given it up. He got a prime. I left it long. 60min race to 8 min video.

yea, it was. Coach who was not there was a bit hard on junior for not going for it. But he didn't see the blue train. Junior said no money for the win, so took a prime and was done. Boring race, but well executed

Nobody remembers who won such and such prime (ok maybe the $5k super-prime at ToaD), but someone will remember who won. Maybe not many people, but someone will.

Cat 5's in the wild. Pretty nasty crash. I'm not sure what happened, looks like they hooked.

One of my cat 4 teammates was taken out today at TdM by someone sprinting for 40th or something. Broken collarbone.

Ugh, sorry to hear that. Seems like going straight is difficult for some people and it wipes out everyone else. I hope he heals quick.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's worse. Yikes.
Hard to tell what happened in the crash, since it's mostly behind the other rider.
Only thing I noticed was a light pole missing a hay bale. That's the real issue.

what's also bothersome is that the d-bag who caused the crash gets right up, picks up his bike, and starts to walk away while the guy laying down is clearly in agony. **** that guy with a pineapple.

Haybale would still mean broken collarbone probably but it would have reduced the impact overall. (My teammate broke his shoulder bouncing off of a hay bale).
The dad's attitude is really bad, the worst. It's a racing incident, period. Cannot blame another rider for some random crash. If they'd crashed 30 feet further nothing would have happened, no light pole, etc. Part of racing is dealing with crashes.
The father is misdirecting his anger. If anything he ought to direct it at his son or at the promoter, not at some random racer that fell over.
(I didn't see the bit where the rider that fell first got up and left the other rider behind).

I know you weren't asking for racing feedback, so you can take or leave this comment, but I raced later that day so it stood out for me in the video that wasn't a lot of good wind management in your race. I think I remember you posting some good results last year so you have the strength to compete, but the wind was such a factor at Grant's Tomb that a good result was only possible by paying attention to it and using it to your advantage (or at least to other people's disadvantage). On the 122nd street hill you needed to be right on a wheel, like directly behind another racer as close as you were comfortable, and let him do all the work. On the stretch after that, even though it's downhill, being all the way to the right would let you shelter and coast. The trick was then to go from right to left through the hairpin because being all the way left on the finishing stretch was worth many watts saved, probably the most important positioning in the race. It looked like you were usually on the right on the finishing stretch, which is tempting because it would have been open for moving up, but if you sheltered on the left you would have been able to stockpile a lot of energy for the finish. You were on the left side for the finale but by that point you were too far back to be a factor.

Thanks for tuning in and the tips dude! Yeah the wind was pretty crazy during the race. I never rode this course before so I was trying to find my way. All in all I could have done lots of things differently, but what you pointed out in regards to that hairpin I noticed was true. I was thinking on my last turn I should of been on the outside. Being on the left slowed me down and didn't set me up for a closing sprint at all.

Yeah, I have 15 seconds after the crash through a couple minutes following and the guy gets on his bike and rolls to the line.

Had a go awful race but the video turned out really cool. Two drones up in the air. One from my brother who just has raw footage I've been posting on facebook and this one that was heavily editted and made it look super pro!
